As university chaplain, James Slaughter works tirelessly to create a sense of connection and belonging for students who are not members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He serves as an advisor for many student clubs and sponsors or cosponsors a variety of interfaith initiatives, including student panel discussions, interfaith events, and shared meals. Slaughter is a trusted leader who has helped the university navigate sensitive discussions and experiences, and he conducts university-wide trainings that inspire faculty, staff, and students who are members of the Church to better understand and interact with students of other faith traditions.
